The dictionary defines the word INTREPID as "fearless, bold, daring." Our members practice and display these qualities in all that they do to meet the challenges as a club and in their private lives.

The following descriptions explain the Colors of the Intrepid Brothers MC:

Silver - The Shield | Black - Brothers That Lost Their Lives Defending Our Nation | Blue - Law Enforcement Uniform

The Law Enforcement Shield:

Tracing the history, the shield dates back to the year 1200 in the days of King Arthur, and the Knights of the Round Table.

The shield was used as a defensive weapon to protect the knights, and became known as a shield of authority.

The Knights of the Round Table were the first known police force, and upheld the King’s law and protected the people of the villages or the Shire.

Knights had to be honest, brave and trustworthy, and of good moral character. They were responsible for upholding the laws of the land.

On the front center of the Knight's shield was a crest that represented their heraldry and coat of arms.

The 1911 Sidearms:

The M1911 is a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, and recoil-operated handgun chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. John M. Browning designed the firearm which was the standard-issue side arm for the United States armed forces from 1911 to 1985. The M1911 is still carried by some U.S. Forces. It was widely used in World War I and during World War II about 1.9 million units were procured by the U.S. Government for all forces.

After World War II, the M1911 continued to be a mainstay of the United States Armed Forces in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. It was used during Desert Storm in specialized U.S. Army units and U.S. Navy Mobile Construction Battalions (Seabees), and has seen service in both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, with U.S. Army Special Forces Groups and Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance Companies.

Its formal designation as of 1940 was Automatic Pistol, Caliber .45, M1911 for the original Model of 1911 or Automatic Pistol, Caliber .45, M1911A1 for the M1911A1, adopted in 1924. The designation changed to Pistol, Caliber .45, Automatic, M1911A1 in the Vietnam era. In total, the United States procured around 2.7 million M1911 and M1911A1 pistols in military contracts during its service life.

The Maltese Cross:

The Maltese Cross is a symbol of protection . . . a badge of honor; it's story and tradition is hundreds of years old.

When a courageous band of Crusaders, known as the Knights of St. John, fought the Saracens for possession of the Holy Land, they encountered a new weapon unknown to European warriors. It was a simple, but horrible device of war, it brought excruciating pain and agonizing death upon the brave fighters for The Cross.

The Saracen's weapon was fire.

As the Crusaders advanced on the walls of the Saracens' city they were struck by glass bombs containing naphtha. When they became saturated with the highly inflammable liquid, the Saracens hurled a flaming tree into their midst.

Hundreds of Knights were burned alive. Others risked their lives to save their brothers-in-arms from dying painful fiery deaths.

Thus, these men became the first firefighters; and the first of a long list of courageous fire-fighters and first aiders. Their heroic efforts were recognized by fellow Crusaders who awarded each hero a badge of honor, a cross similar to the one firefighters wear today.

Since the Knights of St. John lived for close to four centuries on a little island in the Mediterranean Sea named Malta, the cross came to be known as the Maltese Cross.

The Maltese Cross is your symbol of protection. It means that the firefighter who wears this cross is willing to lay down his or her life for you, just as the Crusaders sacrificed their lives for their fellow man so many years ago.

The Maltese Cross is a badge of honor, signifying that he or she works in courage, pride and honor.

The Wheel:

The mag front wheel represents the at-large motorcycle community and all riders that want to be a part of an organization that is "bigger than the pieces." The Brotherhood our club members share is the binding spirit that comes from time spent together, the shared good and bad times, and the earned respect.
